When Khwanjai starts to prepare it, the Jungle drums start to beating and the family descends like a horde of ravenous locusts! Until that is…….
I started telling them all to bugger off and bring me some beer before you’ll get fed! That fact remains, its a family feast although, you can easily adapt the recipe to a meal for two

Below is a basic, abbreviated version of the recipe together with this tiddly video trailer
Recipe For Chicken
Gain Nung
How to Make Steamed Chicken
Stuff you’ll need
chicken whole
loads of garlic
carrots
potatoes
cauliflower
broccoli
coriander
spring onions
seasoning sauce
soy bean paste
chicken stock
pepper
tomatoes
Chicken dressing:
crush garlic add coriander roots and pound
add pepper continue pounding until mixed
add soy bean paste, seasoning sauce and chicken stock, stir in gently
deeply score chicken as per Video and rub in the dressing we just made
cover chicken with coriander and tomato halves and refer to cooking instructions
Vegetables:
cut vegetables into nice chunky pieces and place in the second layer of the steamer and refer to cooking instructions
Cooking Instructions:
place chicken into pre-heated steamer and cook for about 30 mins
add the vegetables layer to the steamer continue for about 20 minutes to cook vegetables
remove from heat carefully

Serving Ideas:
Serve with Jasmine rice, lots of tasty gravy and the rice soaks it up beautifully
Lift chicken from steamer and serve onto a central plate, pour some of the gravy over the chicken and pour the rest into a separate bowl for everyone to dip into
Serve Vegetables onto another separate plate so everyone can help themselves
